Selling an inherited home with a sketchy family background

Selling an inherited home with a sketchy family background

None of my siblings and I have ever been close. We aren’t all full blooded siblings either. That has always been quite apparent when we get together and start fighting. After I turned 18 I moved out and had nothing to do with my family other than my dad who I am related to. We kept in touch and stayed close. When he died I got his house. My siblings all felt they were entitled to the house. I wanted to sell it and they all felt they all deserved a piece of the sale. It became a really angry, messy process. I knew if I listed the property I would get a ton of relatives showing up with their hands out. They would know how much I got for it and demand the money. So it made sense to sell my Florida property fast for cash. With a cash home offer I was able to keep the price quiet. I also was able to sell in days rather than months. I sold my northeast Florida real estate for cash quickly and then left. My siblings didn’t find out about the sale until months later. They all wanted the money and lied and said it was gone. They had nothing to get and there was no evidence of what happened. Everyone was angry but there wasn’t really anything they could do. I wanted the cash home buyer that was buying a property with family issues. The guy didn’t care at all. I felt he could handle anybody that came his way too.
