I will admit that I wasn’t smart about my money for a very long time.
I just kept getting myself deeper and deeper into a hole.
I took out a mortgage, then a second mortgage. I started to struggle to make my payments. It took me years to figure out I bought a way too large home for just me. It was way too expensive. Factoring in my car payments, child support and food, it was out of hand. I realized that I got stuck in a rut of owning a bunch of money and no way to pay it. The bank was threatening to take my home. When it went to foreclosure, I was freaking out. Thankfully there is a cash home buyer in my area that helped me out. They buy all sorts of houses fast for cash. I sold my single family home for cash the moment it was foreclosed. I got some money to get myself a little apartment and to keep my car. It is more than I ever would have accepted though. I am glad that I have a vehicle, a place to live and I can eat. That home was just way too much for me. Now I am making financially smart, safe decisions. I am hoping to someday get into a house again. When I do, I will choose something a lot smaller and more reasonably priced. Without that cash home buyer, I would have been in a huge pickle. I am glad that the foreclosure sign didn’t deter them at all.
